Sukhothai e as celebrações dos 500 anos de relações entre Portugal e a Tailândia

No quadro das celebrações dos 500 anos de relações entre Portugal e a Tailândia, realizou-se há dias na Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal um importante evento. Foi inaugurada uma exposição documental contendo as mais importantes marcas dessa longa relação, exposição assistida por um oportuno e detalhado catálogo que permite aos interessados inteirarem-se da profundidade das marcas portuguesas naquele reino do Sudeste-Asiático.

O Sukhothai associou-se à iniciativa, que contou com a colaboração do Ban Thai, servindo aos cerca de 200 convidados uma refeição tradicional, sobretudo entradas e refrescos, que integram o nosso menu de especialidades: crepes de frango, espetadas de frango com molho de amendoim, crepes de camarão, crepes de caril massaman e wantan frito.

"We looked up for the restaurant during the day in Bairro Alto, hoping to fetch a good Thai lunch, but couldn't find it. Later, we understood it's open only for dinner. Just couple of hours before the neighbourhood is floated by young people and lots of alcohol. The service is exceptional. The waiters were berserking to please us and to give us a premium hosting experience. "The food is, of course, the highlight. Every dish was extremley tasty and flavourful. Do not miss the Thai fish cakes! I'm not a big fan of fish, but found these beautiful pieces to be one of the best dishes I've ever had. The food is spicy, so do check with them before you order. I had a very spicy seafood noodle dish, but I like spicy, and so it was so delicious. The base materials (beef, pork, fish, seafood, vegetables and herbs) felt fresh and well-treated in every dish, creating unique flavours which are surley served only there, at least in Lisbon."
